Benefits of Membership
We are always looking for dedicated acute and critical care nurses to make impactful changes to practice, celebrate certification and excellence, and spread the Mission and Vision of the AACN.
Chapter Benefits:
Educational Offerings
We host a variety of educational events throughout the year. These include, but are not limited to webinars, panel discussions, presentations, and company-sponsored dinner events. Each event typically provides continuing nursing education credits (CNE) or continuing education recognition points (CERP) for each hour of programming. These continuing education opportunities are designed to increase your knowledge and impact your practice. These opportunities are generally free for SVAACN members in good standing who maintain active Chapter membership.
Conferences
Cornucopia of Knowledge for Acute & Critical Care
Our largest one-day conference that takes place annually in the Fall. The SVAACN Board of Directors is the sole planner of this event and offers discounted registration fees for SVAACN members in good standing that maintain active Chapter membership. This conference draws speakers both locally and nationally to educate nurses in our region on contemporary topics and those identified as important to our Chapter members through our Chapter Needs Assessment and reviews from other educational events.
Challenges in Critical Care
A one-day conference that takes place annually during August. The SVAACN Board of Directors collaborates with the Pennsylvania Society of Critical Care Medicine (PASCCM) to plan this end-of-summer event and offer discounted registration fees for SVAACN members in good standing that maintain active Chapter membership. This conference is designed to promote the scientific evaluation of methods of care and to translate current literature into strategies to optimize the care of the critically ill patient. Physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals involved in critical care may benefit from attendance.
Spring Training
Our half-day conference that takes place annually in the Spring. The SVAACN Board of Directors is the sole planner of this event and offers discounted registration fees for SVAACN members in good standing that maintain active Chapter membership. This event allows the Chapter to update its constituents of any new concepts or evidence-based practices identified since the presentations at our Fall program.
